SATERN Net Control Operator (NCO) for San Diego County. Was the former SATERN Coordinator of San Diego County (Resigned, July 20, 2010).

Prior Employment:
San Diego Police Department from March 1975 through June 2005 working patrol, preliminary investigations, crime scene investigations, patrol sergeant, DARE and School Safety Patrol sergeant, HQ Operations sergeant, and Watch Commander.

Regular USN 1966-1970, with 19 months service in Viet Nam
Reserve USN 1970-1977 at NAS Miramar in a fighter squadron and then training Base Military Police

Police Highlights:
EMT of the second police ambulance to arrive at the San Diego, North Park, location of PSA Flight 182 that crashed on September 25, 1978, killing 144 people. Worked the crash scene for ten days. Promoted to Police Agent in 1984 and worked numerous Rape, Robbery and Assault crime scenes, some of which became murder investigations when the victims later died. Made several Death Notifications. Promoted to Sergeant in 1988 and was the Watch Commander on the morning that Danielle van Dam was kidnapped from her bedroom and later murdered.

Family:
Married to Claudia since July 1970. Have an adult daughter and a married adult son who has given us our first two granddaughters, aged 2½ and 1.

Bachelors in Public Administration from National University, San Diego in 1984
Master of Science in Forensic Sciences from National University in 1986
